Interestingly, many businesses only focus on large scale demographic data on who will purchase their product such as women between 35-50 years old. However, they don’t take into account why these women will purchase it, how they feel about the task your product is involved in, or any understanding of the needs of their users. This is the advantage empathy mapping has over large scale data that is used in the marketing field and is the advantage of using product designers in the early stages of creating a product.
