Originally developed as my capstone project at Penn State, Curb It 2.0 explores how the City of St. John's existing waste management app could evolve beyond collection reminders into a more engaging public education platform. By introducing food scraps collection, refreshed branding, and interactive educational content, the redesign encourages greater community participation while increasing awareness of renewable energy and sustainable waste practices. Since the original application shares a common municipal platform with several Canadian cities, the concepts explored in this project could be adapted by municipalities across the country, demonstrating how multimedia design can strengthen public communication and environmental engagement.
